Open Water Diver
PADI® Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. A highly-trained PADI Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment.
By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.
Please note that we've made our Drysuit Diver certification add-on mandatory for the time being while we revise our line up of ocean wetsuits, please reach out if you'd like to do wetsuit dives locally and we can assist on a case by case basis.

How to Earn your Scuba Diving Certification
Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology (either offline or online), then learn basic scuba skills in a pool (or pool-like environment) with a highly trained PADI Instructor. When you're ready, make four dives in an open water environment (the ocean, a lake) with your instructor supporting you every step of the way.
- Prerequisites
- Able to swim
- medically fit for diving (check if you meet the medical requirements with the Diver Medical Form)
- Minimum age: 10 years or older
- Rentals
All SCUBA rentals except for masks and snorkels are included in the course price, students are expected to bring their own mask and snorkel (10% off at Dive and Sea with the purchase of this course)

PADI eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology whenever, wherever it's convenient for you.
It's your course on your time. Study offline, or online using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor whenever you have a question.
- With Your Instructor
Practice using scuba gear in a pool (or pool-like environment) until you're comfortable. PADI training includes practice "mini dives" to help you build confidence in your new abilities before making four dives in open water.- Total time commitment: 4-7 days
- Depth: expect shallow dives (12m/40ft), the maximum allowed depth is 18m/60ft

Drysuit Add-on Details
With the drysuit add-on* you will receive a PADI Drysuit Diver Specialty certification along with your Open Water Diver certification!
- What you get: Your Drysuit Diver eLearning materials, a drysuit fitting session on land, a drysuit orientation in the pool, one additional dive in the ocean in addition to completing all your Open Water ocean dives in a drysuit
- Benefits of the Drysuit Certification: Learning to safely dive in a drysuit, ability to rent and purchase drysuits in dive centers worldwide
* Note that for courses running in the months of October to March or in months where the water temperature is below safe levels for dive instruction, this addon is mandatory for completion of ocean dives locally.
